summertime fun

This past summer has been a great one.  We weren't able to go camping this year because Paul's work messed up everyone's vacation bids but we made the best of it.  Starting out our summer we took Zeya to Disneyland for her first time.  She was so excited once she figured out where we were.  She had the time of her life and really enjoyed the day.

We went to Avila Beach for the day in June.  Zeya meet a little girl who was from Fresno.  Zeya thought that was funny.  They built drip castles with Paul and the people near us caught a crab and the girls got the "pet" it.

For the 4th of July we went to Santa Maria to stay with Paul's childhood friend, Nathan, his wife, Kelly, and their three kids.  Paul really enjoys seeing his friend of 23 years and Zeya loves playing with all the kids.  There was a block party with tons of great food, fireworks, and yummy watermelon martinis.
This past weekend my cousin, Autumn came down and visited us for a couple of days.  On Friday we same in the pool then made smores with the neighbors.  On Saturday we went to the Bugseum then to the "Oakie Bowl" that night. Then on Sunday we went bowling.  We all had a great time.

The other day Paul and I decided to surprise Zeya with a trip to the California ScienCenter.  Her and Paul had an awesome day.  We spent almost the whole day there!  There were so many things that Zeya was interested in.  I was reading a lot of it to her and Paul asked if I was going to read everything...hahaha.  I'm so glad we have a smart little girl who is truely interested in how things work and why.
And now the summer is almost over.  We only have one more week before my little girl starts 4th grade.  She's turning into a "big" girl!  So involved, determined, and hands on.  She loves learning and reading.  She loves animals.  She's excelling in cheerleading.  She strives very hard in all the things that she does.  I can't wait to see what kind of woman she will turn into.
